As a jazz artist, he played in the trio album from Rodrigo Álvarez (Chile) alongside Agustín Waldheim on Piano (Argentina), played and recorded with the Fusion band Eleven Onzelf and this year, he collaborated with trumpeter Amadeo Bonaiuto (Argentina) recording the Album Shamonka featuring Hugo Fernández (México) on guitar and Sergio Gómez (Colombia) on double bass.
Beyond performance, he is a dedicated educator, currently teaching at The Planet Drum. He also performs regularly with Natia Todua, the winner of The Voice Germany, bringing his dynamic and expressive drumming to diverse musical projects.

His latest recordings include Flor de Loto with pianist Joaquín Fuentes and his album NUBES with renowned guitarist Nicolás Vera—the first Chilean jazz album released in Chile in 2025. He recently recorded an EP for his project Des Visages with Chilean improviser and composer Jorge Care in Geneva, Switzerland, for saxophone and electronics. In addition, César leads César Vidal & Artikulation Band, where he blends a traditional jazz quartet (saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums) with electronics, also handled by Jorge Care. His work explores the intersection of acoustic and electronic sound, pushing the boundaries of jazz and improvisation.
